Marla Mallett (Vancouver, BC) finished 1-3 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mallett lost 9-4 to Brette Richards (Prince George, BC), then responded with a 9-8 win over British Columbia's Tracey Jones. Mallett went on to lose 12-5 against Karla Thompson (Kamloops, BC). Mallett lost 7-5 to British Columbia's Simone Groundwater in their final qualifying round match.
