LeeAnne Ursel (Kelowna, BC) finished 1-3 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ursel lost 8-4 to Japan's Ayumi Ogasawara, droppimg another game, 8-4 to British Columbia's Lori Olsen where Ursel responded with a 8-6 win over British Columbia's Cristin Clark. Ursel went on to lose 9-5 against Brette Richards (Prince George, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
