Norway's Pal Trulsen finished 7-2 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Norway's Pal Trulsen lost
5-4 to Switzerland's Andreas Schwaller, then responded with a 9-2 win over France's Dominique Dupont-Roc. Norway's Pal Trulsen won 7-6 against Great Britain's Hammy McMillan, then won 6-5 against United States's Tim Somerville and 9-4 against Denmark's Ulrik Schmidt. Norway's Pal Trulsen won 6-5 against Finland's Markku Uusipaavalniemi, then won 10-5 against Germany's Sebastian Stock. Norway's Pal Trulsen went on to lose 9-4 against Canada's Kevin Martin. Norway's Pal Trulsen responded with a 9-8 win over Sweden's Peja Lindholm in their final qualifying round match.
