Simmons won 8-7 against Robbie Gordon (Halleybury, NONT), then won 8-5 against James Grattan (Oromocto, NB) and 7-4 against Ken Peddigrew (St. Johns, NL). Simmons won 10-1 against Rod MacDonald (Charlottetown, PEI). Simmons went on to lose 5-4 against Jamie Koe (Yellowknife, Y/NWT). Simmons lost 9-8 to Brian Windsor (Kamloops, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
