Brewster went on to lose 9-7 against Graham Shaw (Perth, SCO). Brewster lost 7-2 to Peter Loudon (Perth, SCO) where Brewster responded with a 8-3 win over Hammy McMillan (Stranraer, SCO). Brewster won 6-2 against Alan Smith (Galleon, SCO), then won 6-1 against David Murdoch (Lockerbie, SCO). Brewster went on to lose 7-4 against Brian Binnie (Forfar, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
