After advancing directly to the championship game, Peter Loudon (Perth, SCO) lost 3-1 to David Murdoch (Lockerbie, SCO) in the Final of the Scottish Championships, held February 28 - March 5, 2006 in Perth, Scotland.
 
Loudon finished 8-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Loudon defeated Alan Smith (Galleon, SCO) 9-5, then won 8-2 against Hammy McMillan (Stranraer, SCO) and 8-4 against David Edwards (Aberdeen, SCO). Loudon went on to lose 11-5 against Murdoch. Loudon responded with a 7-2 win over Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO). Loudon won 5-3 against Logan Gray (Forest Hills, SCO), then won 8-2 against Graham Shaw (Perth, SCO) and 7-4 against Brian Binnie (Forfar, SCO). Loudon won 8-4 against Gordon Muirhead (Pitlochry, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
 
. For week of the event schedule, Loudon did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Loudon ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
