In their opening game, Watson lost 9-2 to Kevin Martin (Edmonton, AB), droppimg another game, 8-2 to Jason Larway (Seattle, WA) where Watson responded with a 9-6 win over Rob Johnson (Calgary, AB). Watson won 7-6 against Dean Joanisse (Victoria, BC). Watson went on to lose 11-8 against Kevin Park (Olds, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
