In their opening game, Fenson defeated Rob Johnson (Calgary, AB) 9-4, then went on to lose 9-6 against Kevin Koe (Edmonton, AB). Fenson responded with a 8-6 win over Randie Shen (Coquitlam, BC). Fenson went on to lose 11-4 against Bob Ursel (Kelowna, BC). Fenson lost 6-4 to Dean Ross (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
