Finland's Markku Uusipaavalniemi 7-3, then won 8-4 against Denmark's Johnny Frederiksen and 8-4 against Sweden's Peja Lindholm. Canada's Glenn Howard won 8-2 against Switzerland's Ralph Stöckli, then won 12-0 against Korea's Jae Ho Lee and 12-5 against France's Thomas Dufour. Canada's Glenn Howard won 8-4 against Norway's Thomas Ulsrud, then won 9-3 against Andy Kapp (Fussen, GER). Canada's Glenn Howard went on to lose 7-6 against United States's Todd Birr. Canada's Glenn Howard responded with a 8-3 win over Australia's Hugh Millikin. Canada's Glenn Howard won 7-5 against Scotland's Warwick Smith in their final qualifying round match.
