Kevin Koe (Edmonton, AB) finished 5-2 in the 48-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Koe defeated
Jeff McCrady (Ottawa, ON) 9-5, then went on to lose 8-5 against Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB). Koe responded with a 7-2 win over Dean Joanisse (Victoria, BC). Koe went on to lose 8-3 against Peter Corner (Brampton, ON). Koe responded with a 9-6 win over Dwayne Fowler (Montreal Island - West, CAN). Koe won 6-5 against Reid Carruthers (Beausejour, MB), then won 6-0 against Joe Frans (Oakville, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the John Shea Insurance Canada Cup Qualifier Championship title, Koe earned 0.000 world rankings points along with the $12,500CDN first prize cheque. For week of the event schedule, Koe did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Koe ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
