In their opening game, Charette lost 7-6 to Russ Howard (Moncton, NB), then responded with a 6-5 win over Brad Heidt (Kerrobert, SK). Charette went on to lose 9-8 against Ted Butler (Gatineau, QC). Charette responded with a 8-3 win over Brent MacDonald (Edmonton, AB). Charette won 11-6 against Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL). Charette went on to lose 5-4 against Joel Jordison (Moose Jaw, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
