Allan Lyburn (Brandon, MB) finished 4-2 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Lyburn defeated
Jeff Hartung (Langenburg, SK) 8-4, then won 6-2 against Shawn Joyce (Saskatoon, SK). Lyburn went on to lose 9-4 against Joel Jordison (Moose Jaw, SK). Lyburn responded with a 6-1 win over Doug Riach (Winnipeg, MB). Lyburn went on to lose 6-0 against Kelly Skinner (Hamiota, MB). Lyburn responded with a 7-5 win over Brendan Taylor (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Whites' Drug Store Curling Classic Championship title, Lyburn earned 7.700 world rankings points along with the $9,000CDN first prize cheque. For week of the event schedule, Lyburn did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Lyburn ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
