Hollie Nicol (Waterloo, ON) finished 3-3 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Nicol defeated Aileen Sormunen (Duluth, MN) 8-2, then went on to lose 4-2 against Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON). Nicol lost 8-1 to Shelley Nichols (St.John's, NL) where Nicol responded with a 5-4 win over Jenn Hanna (Ottawa, ON). Nicol won 6-0 against Patti Lank (Niagara Falls, NY). Nicol went on to lose 6-4 against Colleen Madonia (Mississauga, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
