In their opening game, Moshenko lost 10-1 to Don DeLair (Red Deer, AB), droppimg another game, 8-2 to Dale Swyripa (Kitscoty, AB) where Moshenko responded with a 8-3 win over Lowell Peterman (Red Deer, AB). Moshenko went on to lose 7-6 against Les Rogers (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
