Simmons won 6-2 against Dean Ross (Calgary, AB), then won 6-2 against Jamie Koe (Yellowknife, NT) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Simmons earned 19.000 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the PriceWaterhouseCoopers Westcoast Curling Classic.
