Kevin Martin (Edmonton, AB) finished 5-0 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Martin defeated
Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO) 7-2, then won 7-2 against Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR) and 7-3 against Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL). Martin won 7-1 against Greg McAulay (Richmond, BC), then won 8-5 against Bob Ursel (Kelowna, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the BDO Canadian Open of Curling, Martin take home 27.000 world rankings points along with the $17,000CDN prize. For week of the event schedule, Martin did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Martin ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
