Jason Gunnlaugson (Beausejour, MB) qualified for the 2009 AMJ Campbell Shorty Jenkins Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 5-4 against Kevin Martin (Edmonton, AB).
 
Gunnlaugson finished 2-2 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gunnlaugson defeated Ted Butler (Gatineau, QC) 6-5, then went on to lose 5-3 against Glenn Howard (Coldwater, ON). Gunnlaugson lost 8-5 to Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) where Gunnlaugson responded with a 8-3 win over Dale Ness (Lacolle, QC) in their final qualifying round match.
