McEwen are currently 1-0 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McEwen defeated Clint Dieno (Saskatoon, SK) 7-6. In their next game, McEwen plays Darren Engel (Fox Valley, SK) on Friday at 9:30pm Vic Peters (Winnipeg, MB) on Saturday at 10:30am and Chris Schille (Edmonton, AB) at 6pm.
 
The berth into the first round of the Point Optical Curling Classic playoffs earned McEwen 12.390 world rankings points. For week of the event schedule, McEwen did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. McEwen ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
