Glen Muirhead (Perth, SCO) finished 4-3 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Muirhead lost
6-5 to Reid Carruthers (Winnipeg, MB), then responded with a 5-4 win over Josh Heidt (Kindersley, SK). Muirhead won 6-5 against Ryan Hyde (Portage la Prairie, MB), then won 5-3 against Pete Fenson (Bemidji, MN) and 5-4 against Mark Dacey (Halifax, NS). Muirhead went on to lose 6-2 against Allan Lyburn (Brandon, MB). Muirhead lost 4-3 to Carruthers in their final qualifying round match.
 
Muirhead earned 4.230 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week of the event schedule, Muirhead did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Muirhead ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
