Glenn Howard (Coldwater, ON) run at the 2009 Westcoast Curling Classic came to an end in the semifinals with a 7-5 loss to Sean Geall (New Westminster, BC). of the 2009 Westcoast Curling Classic in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada; Howard advanced through the quarterfinals with a 6-4 win over Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB). of the 2009 Westcoast Curling Classic in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada;
 
Howard finished 5-1 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Howard defeated British Columbia's Brian Gessner 8-5, then won 8-3 against Greg McAulay (Richmond, BC) and 5-4 against Bob Ursel (Kelowna, BC). Howard went on to lose 5-4 against Pat Simmons (Davidson, SK). Howard responded with a 6-2 win over Tyrel Griffith (Kelowna, CAN). Howard won 6-2 against Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Howard earned 20.000 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Westcoast Curling Classic. For week of the event schedule, Howard did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Howard ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
