Chris Schille (Edmonton, AB) qualified for the 2009 Westcoast Curling Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 7-1 against Bob Ursel (Kelowna, BC). of the 2009 Westcoast Curling Classic in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada;
 
Schille finished 5-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Schille lost 6-2 to Terry Meek (Calgary, AB), then responded with a 6-5 win over Jamie King (Edmonton, AB). Schille won 10-3 against Greg McAulay (Richmond, BC). Schille went on to lose 7-0 against Ted Appelman (Edmonton, AB). Schille responded with a 7-2 win over Japan's Yusuke Morozumi. Schille won 6-5 against Dale Matchett (Bradford, ON), then won 7-3 against Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Schille earned 15.000 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Westcoast Curling Classic. For week of the event schedule, Schille did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Schille ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
