To advance to the championship game, Rankin won 6-4 over Renelle Bryden (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2009 Boundary Ford Curling Classic in Lloydminster, Alberta, Canada; and won 9-5 over Cathy King (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2009 Boundary Ford Curling Classic in Lloydminster, Alberta, Canada;
 
Rankin finished 3-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Rankin defeated Bryden 8-4, then won 9-6 against Sherry Anderson (Delisle, SK) and 10-5 against Faye White (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Boundary Ford Curling Classic, Rankin take home 12.500 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN prize. For week of the event schedule, Rankin did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Rankin ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
