Kevin Koe (Edmonton, AB) lost 6-4 to Glenn Howard (Coldwater, ON) in the Final of the World Cup of Curling, held October 22 - 25, 2009 in Mississauga, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Koe won 6-4 over Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) in the semifinals of the 2009 World Cup of Curling in Mississauga, Ontario; and won 7-2 over Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) in the quarterfinals. of the 2009 World Cup of Curling in Mississauga, Ontario;
 
Koe finished 4-2 in the 14-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Koe defeated Thomas Dufour (Chamonix, FRA) 7-4, then won 6-4 against Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR) and 7-6 against Randy Ferbey (Edmonton, AB). Koe won 6-4 against Fengchun Wang (Harbin, CHN). Koe went on to lose 9-5 against Kevin Martin (Edmonton, AB). Koe lost 8-6 to Edin in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the World Cup of Curling, Koe take home 27.000 world rankings points along with the $14,000CDN prize. For week of the event schedule, Koe did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Koe ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
