Andy Kapp (Fuessen, GER) qualified for the 2009 World Cup of Curling playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 8-5 against Glenn Howard (Coldwater, ON). of the 2009 World Cup of Curling in Mississauga, Ontario;
 
Kapp finished 3-3 in the 14-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kapp lost 9-5 to Howard, then responded with a 7-1 win over Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL). Kapp won 8-0 against John Shuster (Duluth, MN, USA). Kapp went on to lose 4-1 against Switzerland's Markus Eggler. Kapp lost 6-5 to Ulrik Schmidt (Copenhagen, DEN) where Kapp responded with a 4-3 win over David Murdoch (Scotland, UK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Kapp earned 18.000 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the World Cup of Curling. For week of the event schedule, Kapp did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Kapp ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
