Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR) run at the 2009 World Cup of Curling came to an end in the semifinals with a 5-4 loss to Glenn Howard (Coldwater, ON). of the 2009 World Cup of Curling in Mississauga, Ontario; Ulsrud advanced through the quarterfinals with a 8-2 win over Ulrik Schmidt (Copenhagen, DEN). of the 2009 World Cup of Curling in Mississauga, Ontario;
 
Ulsrud finished 4-2 in the 14-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ulsrud defeated Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) 8-2, then went on to lose 6-4 against Kevin Koe (Edmonton, AB). Ulsrud lost 5-4 to Kevin Martin (Edmonton, AB) where Ulsrud responded with a 7-4 win over Randy Ferbey (Edmonton, AB). Ulsrud won 6-3 against Thomas Dufour (Chamonix, FRA), then won 4-2 against Fengchun Wang (Harbin, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Ulsrud earned 22.000 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the World Cup of Curling.
