Simmons responded with a 9-7 win over Claudio Pescia (St. Galler, SUI). Simmons won 5-3 against Fengchun Wang (Harbin, CHN), then won 5-3 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Simmons earned 15.000 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Cactus Pheasant Classic.
