Trulsen advanced through the quarterfinals with a 4-3 win over Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB). of the 2009 Radisson SAS Oslo Cup in Oslo, Norway;
 
Norway's Pal Trulsen finished 3-1 in the 25-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Norway's Pal Trulsen defeated Switzerland's Manuel Ruch 6-5, then won 6-4 against John Shuster (Duluth, MN) and 4-3 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE). Norway's Pal Trulsen went on to lose 4-2 against Anton Bobrov (Moscow, RUS) in their final qualifying round match.
