Bingyu Wang (Harbin, CHN) finished 3-2 in the 30-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Wang defeated Kerry Galusha (Yellowknife, NT) 6-2, then went on to lose 7-5 against Chantelle Eberle (Regina, SK). Wang lost 6-3 to Janet Harvey (Winnipeg, MB) where Wang responded with a 7-4 win over Michelle Englot (Regina, SK). Wang won 7-6 against Manitoba's Kim Link in their final qualifying round match.
