In their opening game, McDonald defeated Kerri Einarson (Winnipeg, MB) 7-6, then won 6-3 against Shannon Kleibrink (Calgary, AB) and 6-3 against Jolene Campbell (Regina, SK). McDonald went on to lose 6-3 against Liudmilla Privivkova (Moscow, RUS). McDonald responded with a 7-6 win over Sherry Anderson (Delisle, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
McDonald earned 15.000 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Bank of America Schmirler Curling Classic. For week of the event schedule, McDonald did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
