Peter Loudon (Perth, SCO) run at the 2009 Bern Open came to an end in the semifinals with a 6-4 loss to Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR). of the 2009 Bern Open in Bern, Switzerland; Loudon advanced through the quarterfinals with a 6-4 win over David Bartschiger (Burgdorf, SUI).
 
Loudon finished 4-0 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Loudon defeated Switzerland's Sven Iten 7-2, then won 5-3 against Ulsrud and 8-7 against Italy's Joel Retornaz. Loudon won 6-5 against Warwick Smith (Perth, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Loudon earned 10.280 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Bern Open.
