Loudon finished 4-0 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Loudon defeated Switzerland's Sven Iten 7-2, then won 5-3 against Ulsrud and 8-7 against Italy's Joel Retornaz. Loudon won 6-5 against Warwick Smith (Perth, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
