Peter Loudon (Perth, SCO) run at the 2009 Bern Open came to an end in the semifinals with a 6-4 loss to Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR). of the 2009 Bern Open in Bern, Switzerland; Loudon advanced through the quarterfinals with a 6-4 win over David Bartschiger (Burgdorf, SUI).

Loudon finished 4-0 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Loudon defeated Switzerland's Sven Iten 7-2, then won 5-3 against Ulsrud and 8-7 against Italy's Joel Retornaz. Loudon won 6-5 against Warwick Smith (Perth, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.

Loudon earned 10.280 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Bern Open. For week of the event schedule, Loudon did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Loudon ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
