Lovold Reaches 2009 Lucerne Curling Trophy Semifinals

Thomas Lovold (Oslo, NOR) run at the 2009 Lucerne Curling Trophy came to an end in the semifinals with a 6-3 loss to Switzerland's Markus Eggler. of the 2009 Lucerne Curling Trophy in Lucerne, Switzerland; Lovold advanced through the quarterfinals with a 9-1 win over Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE). of the 2009 Lucerne Curling Trophy in Lucerne, Switzerland;
 
Lovold finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Lovold defeated Finland's Tomi Rantamaki 10-3, then won 6-4 against Alexander Attinger (Dübendorf, SUI). Lovold went on to lose 6-5 against Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO). Lovold responded with a 6-3 win over Hungary's Lajos Belleli. Lovold won 8-4 against Stefan Karnusian (St. Moritz, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Lovold earned 10.600 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Lucerne Curling Trophy. For week of the event schedule, Lovold did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
