Lee McCleary (Kinross, SCO) finished 3-3 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McCleary defeated
David Sik (Praha, CZE) 6-3, then went on to lose 6-5 against Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO). McCleary lost 7-1 to Fengchun Wang (Harbin, CHN) where McCleary responded with a 7-5 win over Allan Manuel (Greenacres, SCO). McCleary won 8-2 against Ulrik Schmidt (Copenhagen, DEN). McCleary went on to lose 5-3 against Glen Muirhead (Perth, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
 
McCleary earned 1.900 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week of the event schedule, McCleary did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. McCleary ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
