To advance to the championship game, Swabb won 6-3 over Japan's Moe Meguro in the semifinals of the 2009 Meyers Norris Penny Charity Classic in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada; and won 6-4 over Tiffany Game (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2009 Meyers Norris Penny Charity Classic in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada;
 
Swabb finished 4-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Swabb defeated Bobbie Sauder (Edmonton, AB) 9-1, then won 7-4 against Andrea McCutcheon (Edmonton, AB) and 6-4 against Valerie Sweeting (Edmonton, AB). Swabb won 7-3 against Alberta's June Campbell in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Meyers Norris Penny Charity Classic, Swabb take home 8.250 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN prize. For week of the event schedule, Swabb did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Swabb ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
