Wayne Middaugh (Toronto, ON) won 3-2 over Dale Matchett (Bradford, ON) in the Final of the Barrie Cash Spiel, held October 16 - 18, 2009 in Barrie, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Middaugh won 6-5 over Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) in the semifinals of the 2009 Barrie Cash Spiel in Barrie, Ontario; and won 4-3 over Wayne Warren (Stouffville, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2009 Barrie Cash Spiel in Barrie, Ontario;
 
Middaugh finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Middaugh defeated Duane Lindner (Toronto, ON) 7-3, then won 6-3 against Kirk Ziola (London, ON) and 6-4 against Patrick Gelinas (Mattawa, ON). Middaugh went on to lose 9-5 against Terry Corbin (Brantford, ON). Middaugh responded with a 5-3 win over Mike Jakubo (Sudbury, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Barrie Cash Spiel Championship title, Middaugh earned 17.600 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN first prize cheque. For week of the event schedule, Middaugh did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Middaugh ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
