Peter Corner (Brampton, ON) won 4-2 over Dale Matchett (Bradford, ON) in the Final of the Brampton Curling Classic, held October 26 - November 1, 2009 at the Brampton Curling Club in Brampton, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Corner won 7-6 over Darryl Prebble (Toronto, ON) in the semifinals of the 2009 Brampton Curling Classic in Brampton, Ontario, Canada; and won 6-4 over Joe Frans (Acton, ON) in the quarterfinals.
Corner finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Corner defeated Tim Morrison (Lakefield, ON) 7-3, then won 7-3 against Bill Duck (Toronto, ON). Corner went on to lose 7-5 against Todd Brandwood (Hamilton, ON). Corner responded with a 9-5 win over Rob Lobel (Whitby, ON). Corner won 4-3 against Ian Fleming (Toronto, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Brampton Curling Classic Championship title, Corner earned 18.320 world rankings points along with the $5,200CDN first prize cheque. For week of the event schedule, Corner did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Corner ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
