Matchett finished 5-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Matchett defeated Wayne Warren (Stouffville, ON) 6-5, then won 6-3 against Al Belec (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) and 8-3 against Joe Frans (Acton, ON). Matchett won 8-4 against Pierre Charette (Etchemin, QC), then won 6-4 against Pat Ferris (Beamsville, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Brampton Curling Classic, Matchett take home 11.450 world rankings points along with the $2,750CDN prize. For week of the event schedule, Matchett did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
