Allan Lyburn (Brandon, MB) finished 2-3 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Lyburn defeated Jason Ackerman (Regina, SK) 6-3, then went on to lose 6-4 against Randy Bryden (Saskatoon, SK). Lyburn lost 7-6 to Travis Graham (Thompson, MB) where Lyburn responded with a 5-2 win over Vic Peters (Winnipeg, MB). Lyburn went on to lose 5-4 against Bryden in their final qualifying round match.

Lyburn earned 1.790 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week of the event schedule, Lyburn did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Lyburn ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
