John Bell (Unionville, ON) won 7-6 over Jason March (Toronto, ON) in the Final of the TD Canada Trust Scugog Cup, held November 27 - 29, 2009 at the Port Perry Community Curling Club in Port Perry, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Bell won 7-4 over Norm McGlaughlin (Toronto, ON) in the semifinals
 
Bell finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Bell defeated Steve Szymanski (Guelph, ON) 8-7, then won 7-6 against Bruce Jefferson (Stroud, ON) and 5-4 against Don Beaton (Port Perry, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the TD Canada Trust Scugog Cup Championship title, Bell earned 4.000 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN first prize cheque. For week of the event schedule, Bell did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Bell ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
