Rick Folk (Kelowna, BC) qualified for the 2009 Kamloops Crown of Curling playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 6-1 against Greg McAulay (Richmond, BC). of the 2009 Kamloops Crown of Curling in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada;
 
Folk finished 3-2 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Folk lost 7-6 to Sean Beighton (Seattle, WA), droppimg another game, 9-4 to British Columbia's Andrew Bilesky where Folk responded with a 6-5 win over Steve Waatainen (Nanaimo, BC). Folk won 7-4 against Korea's Chang-Min Kim, then won 6-2 against Bryan Miki (New Westminster, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Folk earned 5.580 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Kamloops Crown of Curling. For week of the event schedule, Folk did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Folk ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
