Miranda Solem (Cohasset, MN) lost 11-4 to Becca Hamilton (McFarland, WI) in the Final of the US Junior Womens Nationals, held January 29 - February 5, 2011 in Fairbanks, Alaska.
 
Solem finished 8-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Solem defeated Hannah Ely (Penfield, NY) 8-4, then won 8-5 against Mackenzie Lank (Devils Lake, ND) and 13-5 against Shelby Sweet (Everett, WA). Solem won 12-4 against Katlyn Beebe (Saratoga Springs, NY), then won 9-2 against Hannah Elko (Pardeeville, WI). Solem went on to lose 7-0 against Cory Christensen (Duluth, MN). Solem responded with a 7-3 win over Abigayle Lindgren (Grand Forks, ND). Solem won 9-8 against Vicky Persinger (Fairbanks, AK), then won 8-4 against Hamilton in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the US Junior Womens Nationals, Solem take home 5.000 world rankings points. For week 22 of the event schedule, Solem did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Solem ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
