CHAMPION: Hamilton Wins 2011 US Junior Womens Nationals

Becca Hamilton (McFarland, WI) won 11-4 over Miranda Solem (Cohasset, MN) in the Final of the US Junior Womens Nationals, held January 29 - February 5, 2011 in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Hamilton finished 7-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hamilton defeated Shelby Sweet (Everett, WA) 15-2, then won 10-3 against Hannah Ely (Penfield, NY) and 11-0 against Abigayle Lindgren (Grand Forks, ND). Hamilton went on to lose 10-8 against Mackenzie Lank (Devils Lake, ND). Hamilton responded with a 12-1 win over Katlyn Beebe (Saratoga Springs, NY). Hamilton won 7-4 against Vicky Persinger (Fairbanks, AK), then won 9-3 against Cory Christensen (Duluth, MN) and 7-6 against Hannah Elko (Pardeeville, WI). Hamilton went on to lose 8-4 against Solem in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the US Junior Womens Nationals Championship title, Hamilton earned 8.000 world rankings points. For week 22 of the event schedule, Hamilton did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Hamilton ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
