Pat Simmons (Davidson, SK) qualified for the 2010 The Shoot-Out playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 6-1 against Carl deConinck Smith (Rosetown, SK).
 
Simmons finished 5-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Simmons defeated Brandon Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) 5-2, then won 5-2 against Wade White (Edmonton, ON) and 6-3 against Les Rogers (Edmonton, AB). Simmons won 5-3 against Steve Petryk (Calgary, AB), then won 7-4 against Colin Griffiths (Grande Prairie, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Simmons earned 6.690 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the The Shoot-Out, moving up 3 spots the World Ranking Standings into 17th place overall with 58.857 total points. Simmons ranks 31st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 6.690 points earned so far this season.
