Tait finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Tait defeated Saskatchewan's Clint Krismer 6-5, then won 9-1 against Jerod Roland (Minot, ND) and 7-4 against Braeden Moskowy (Regina, SK). Tait went on to lose 5-3 against Xiaoming Xu (Harbin, CHN). Tait responded with a 6-4 win over Joel Jordison (Moose Jaw, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Tait earned 3.000 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Horizon Laser Vision Center Classic, moving up 85 spots the World Ranking Standings into 192nd place overall with 4.125 total points. Tait ranks 71st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 3.000 points earned so far this season.
