Appelman went on to lose 5-2 against Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Appelman earned 5.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, dropping 1 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 13th place overall with 94.500 total points. Appelman ranks 30th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 16.150 points earned so far this season.
