Robert Schlender (Edmonton, AB) 6-2, then went on to lose 5-3 against Jason Gunnlaugson (Moscow, RUS). Geall responded with a 6-5 win over Brock Virtue (Calgary, AB). Geall went on to lose 6-4 against Tyrel Griffith (Vernon, BC). Geall responded with a 9-2 win over Leon Romaniuk (Seattle, WA). Geall won 5-3 against Brent Bawel (Calgary, AB). Geall went on to lose 7-2 against Pat Simmons (Davidson, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Geall earned 5.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 5 of the event schedule, Geall did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
