Jim Cotter (Vernon, BC) run at the 2010 Westcoast Curling Classic came to an end in the semifinals with a 6-3 loss to Kevin Martin (Edmonton, AB). of the 2010 Westcoast Curling Classic in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada; Cotter advanced through the quarterfinals with a 3-2 win over Robert Schlender (Edmonton, AB). of the 2010 Westcoast Curling Classic in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada;
 
Cotter finished 5-1 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Cotter defeated Stephen Kopf (New Westminster, BC) 5-3, then won 6-2 against Andrey Drozdov (Moscow, RUS) and 8-4 against Randy Ferbey (St. Johns, NL). Cotter went on to lose 5-4 against Kevin Koe (Edmonton, AB). Cotter responded with a 6-4 win over Jason Montgomery (Duncan, BC). Cotter won 7-0 against Pat Simmons (Davidson, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Cotter earned 20.000 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Westcoast Curling Classic, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 8th place overall with 154.030 total points. Cotter ranks 10th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 31.480 points earned so far this season.
