Jamie Koe (Yellowknife, NT) finished 1-3 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Koe lost 4-3 to Pat Simmons (Davidson, SK), droppimg another game, 7-1 to Greg McAulay (Richmond, BC) where Koe responded with a 7-3 win over Korea's Dong-Keun Lee. Koe went on to lose 8-5 against Robert Schlender (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
