Thomas Lovold (Oslo, NOR) finished 1-3 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Lovold lost 7-2 to Czech Republic's David Sik, droppimg another game, 6-1 to Finland's Tomi Rantamaki where Lovold responded with a 5-4 win over Switzerland's Alexander Attinger. Lovold went on to lose 4-2 against Hammy McMillan (Stranraer, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
