Ackerman went on to lose 7-1 against Switzerland's Claudio Pescia. Ackerman responded with a 7-1 win over Joel Jordison (Moose Jaw, SK). Ackerman went on to lose 8-4 against William Lyburn (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
