Duncan Fernie (Perth, SCO) qualified for the 2010 Edinburgh International playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 6-5 against David Murdoch (Lockerbie, SCO). of the 2010 Edinburgh International in Edinburgh, Scotland, Scotland;
 
Fernie finished 3-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Fernie defeated Scotland's Neil Joss 6-3, then won 7-3 against Frazer Hare (Stranraer, SCO). Fernie went on to lose 6-4 against Ewan MacDonald (Perth, SCO). Fernie responded with a 7-1 win over Italy's Marco Pascale in their final qualifying round match.
 
Fernie earned 2.850 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Edinburgh International.
